We worked closesly with management to organize game launch events and tournaments to help drive traffic and game preorders. Players could come into the store and sign up for a tournament the night of the release. Players would then play to win swag and other perks. We also worked with other local businesses to supply the gamers free pizza and treats before the launch.
On another project, we demonstrated a business service we called GameStop Grab-N-Go which would allow a member with a subscription to pick any used game and rent it. We were able to show that this would allow them to compete with GameFly but have the advantage that gamers could go to their local GameStop and get the game that day if it was available. This would increase traffic to the stores which would allow more opportunity to do their upsales.
